For those that don’t know, Bulletproof Coffee is awesome on Keto – it keeps you full and energized for hours while helping you burn fat
Bulletproof Coffee usually consists of coffee, unsalted butter & coconut oil (for MCT). If that sounds gross to you, you’re not alone. It took me months to try it. Once I did though, there’s no going back! It definitely kept me full and gave me energy.
As most of you know, I’ve restarted my Keto journey and I’m planning for maximum success! To help with my fat intake (which I know I never got enough of before) I’ve decided to double down on my daily Bulletproof Coffee intake. It should also help keep my energies up, keep me full, battle cravings and burn more fat.
Bulletproof Coffee (coffee, unsalted butter & coconut oil) only tastes good if it’s blended really well – coconut oil makes that really hard unless you have some kind of blender thingy and I didn’t want to have to bring one to work. Goodbye coconut oil hello MCT supplements The butter and coffee still need to be mix well but not as crazy as when you add coconut oil.
My Morning Bulletproof Coffee:
- 1 cup coffee
- 2tbs/1oz unsalted butter (kerrygold is best)
- 1tbs heavy cream (optional)
- no carb/no calorie sweetener (I use EZ Sweets)
I put the butter in the cup as the coffee is brewing so that it melts as the cup fills up. I then top the cup and shake it with my hands. Add the heavy cream and sweetener and shake it again. As I drink it, I take 3 MCT capsules. They’re on the big side but soft-gel so they go down easy.
That’s what I had this morning at 7:30am – around noon I’ll have some salami and cheese and at around 2pm I’ll make another bulletproof coffee. No MCT pills, that’s just once a day. That should keep me good till dinner which will consist of a Chicken Fajita Salad 😀
Almost forgot, prep is sooooooooo important and helpful! Last night we prepped 6 breasts of chickens, hamburger beef patties and all my butter – making my first week back on Keto that much easier on me.
Lemme know if you have any questions and/or comments.
